Supporter exclusive: Benjamin Franklin House

Step inside the home of Benjamin Franklin on this exclusive guided visit for Fulham Palace supporters.

Friends and Patrons of Fulham Palace are invited to a special guided History and Architecture tour of Benjamin Franklin House, the world’s only remaining home of Benjamin Franklin.

Located at 36 Craven Street, this remarkable townhouse is where Franklin lived for nearly 16 years between 1757 and 1775. During his time in London as a colonial diplomat, his work extended far beyond politics, spanning science, invention and philosophy. Today, the house brings his story to life as a dynamic museum and educational space, first opened to the public on 17 January 2006 to mark his 300th birthday.

Event details:

  • This event is exclusively for Friends and Patrons of Fulham Palace.
  • The tour will begin promptly at 14.00 and is approximately one hour long.
  • Please arrive at the main entrance at 13.55 to ensure a timely start.
  • Accessibility note: Benjamin Franklin House is a five-storey townhouse with a staircase between each floor. The floors and stairs are uneven and sloping. There are handrails on all of the staircases and there is visitor seating in all of the historic rooms. Due to the Grade I nature of the building and the different levels of the building, there is no wheelchair access. Restrooms are downstairs in the basement and there are no accessible restrooms.
  • For further details or any questions about this event, please contact Amy Barker by emailing development@fulhampalace.org.
