Fabulous Ferns is a new collection of Laura Stoddart’s beautiful oversized plants featuring her trademark figures as plant hunters. Using her distinctive soft palette of watercolours this collection has a gentle nostalgic feel. Inspired by her interest in botanical collections, her love of ferns and intrigue in Pteridomania - the Victorian obsession with ferns.

About the artist

Laura Stoddart was born in Liverpool in the early seventies.  She grew up in rural Cheshire and always wanted to be an illustrator of which she is proud to be the third generation.
After studying at Brighton University and the Royal College of Art she began her career with a commission from the Royal Mail for the 1996 Christmas stamps, the youngest professional artist ever to have designed a set of stamps.
Since then she has worked for a broad range of clients, from Gardens Illustrated and Crabtree & Evelyn to Portmeirion and Unicef, in all areas of design and illustration. Her beautiful and distinctive work can be seen in books and on packaging, stationery and china.
Laura launched her own range of stationery, home and giftware in 2016.  She now lives and works on the Devon / Somerset border with her husband, two children and two Bedington Terriers. She loves plants and trees and collections of lustre ware, china dogs, antique chairs and red shoes.
